Family News

OCTOBER 2011 - I am modernizing this web site with some new features:
We currently have nearly 4000 individuals and nearly 800 surnames in our database.

1. I am putting my database right here on the server instead of Family Tree Maker that I have been using for years. This will allow me to update the database from anywhere that I have an internet connection. And let the visitors to this website see the latest additions and changes without waiting for me to do a manual update (which I didnt do often enough before)..

2. As you can see with all the data online, a huge list of surnames is available on the left margin of the homepage, these names are pulled right out of the database instead of the few static names that I have had on the top border of this webpage. Eventually I will add different reports and pages, the top few surname links will go away and be replaced by the ones on the left.

3. With everything online we will be adding blog entries about family names and or about individuals, So if you have a favorite Sullivan story you can put it here, or if you have a comment on Adam Runner Jr then you can put it there...

4. a better visitor sign in book, I think its important for all of you to communicate with each other, and know who is out there and who is interested in the familys here.. I email and talk with so many of you .. I wish you all were able to do the same... I have had sign in books before on this website but the CANNED scripts are always easy for the hackers,.. we always end up hacked with Briteny Spears naked or something like that... If I write my own guest book it will be much more secure...And facebook links so our big family can be more like a big family online... Maybe even google search links on family members so you can do some of your own research..

Most of this information has been shared by other family members.

I made this colorful chart below to illustrate my direct ancestors, clicking on the names in the first column will take you to a web page
with more information pertaining to that particular name and MANY other names related to it. Some of the other links on the chart
will take you to the descendants of that particular person. We have lots and lots of photos of relatives
and photos of gravestones. We have obituary info, personal histories, maps, wills, and anything else we can get our hands on. Let me warn
you, the website is pretty massive with lots of web pages, its pretty easy to get lost. I got a nice email from a cousin that found us on a
google search for the Runner name and was overwhelmed by 70 odd pages of Runner information... We aim to please... ;-)

If we don't get what we have online to share with our cousins, it could be lost forever.
