To uncle Als left is Jennie (married to Louie) and Mary in front of her with the black dress. Alexander Matthew Husak is the one
with the baseball bat (He is married to Clara (Lottie)) The man in front of him sitting with the stripped tie is Marys husband ? Pubusky.
The girl in the front of him with her legs crossed is Louise (daughter of Louie and Jennie). The couple in front of the window are Jennie Cherkas and her companion.
Aunt Lillie and Aunt Anne are just to the right of the window, and Frances is seated in front of Annie
Uncle Peg (Charles) is on the back row furthest right, Clara is kneeling in front of him and Victoria is on the right standing.

We think the boy on the left is not Steve Zerkis but his brother Louie
Louie would have been 12 years old in 1915 and Steve would have been 8 years old
The man 5th from the left in the top row must be Tony Cherkas (son of John and Frances) he would be 20
The Zulkewski family were family friends, the small girl Nellie is their daughter
The wedding couple Mrs. Galate and Michael Galate are supposed to be cousins but we have no record of who they are.
Top row on right is Michael Cherkas, brother of John Cherkas. In front of him is his son Walter about 5 or 6 yrs.

I'm guessing this was taken in the late 1920's or so. My dad, Steve Zerkis is standing on the right in a suit, I believe my grandfather, Ivan Cherkas is standing the second from the left. What they have on display is a altar tabernacle they built or had built for the then new Ukrainian Catholic church in Woodbine.

family photo taken probably in the late 1920's or so. From the left, it looks like Steve Husak, my dad Steve Zerkis standing in back, then his sister Anne Sule, my grandmother, Frances Czerkas. In front of her is one of the two Husak girls, I'm guessing Lillian. Next to my grandmother in the back is my uncle Alex Husak, then my aunt Lottie (Clara) Husak. In front of her another daughter, (Vicky), my aunt Pearl Shapren, and my grandfather, Ivan Czerkas. I'm not sure of the spellings of the last names of my grandparents, I do know that when Frances came through immigration the records show her as using Czerkas. Have not found any Ellis Island records of my grandfather's arrival yet.

I know only two people in this wedding photo, third from the left is my uncle Charles Sule, and at the right end, my dad, Steve Zerkis. Guessing this was in the mid-1930's.

Lillian Husak and her husband. early 1940's?

I know that Aunt Anne can identify all the people in this picture. I recognize the face of the third person from the left, don't know the name, possibly "Ulick"? I remember him as being in the Navy in WW II. Fifth from the left is my uncle Charles Sule, Anne Sule, Steve Zerkis, Pearl Shapren and Alex Husak. I think that Uncle Alex gave away the bride. What would be the date?

On the left is Pearl Shapren, the question is who is on the right? Possibly her oldest sister, Aunt Mary Pubusky?

This picture was on the wall in my dad's living room and i believe it was taken of my grandparents, Iwan (jan) and Frances Czerkas. This picture was heavily touched up by hand. Am guessing it was taken maybe when he was about 30 and she was maybe in her early 20's. Possibly taken when they were still in Europe.

my father, Stephen Zerkis and i'm guessing that it was taken in the mid to late 1920's.

Uncle Tony (anton) Zerkas in the US Army in WW I. Had to be 1917 or 1918 give or take a year or two. I think this might have been taken after basic training rather then at the end of his enlistment but i am not certain.

4. MICHEAL² CZERKAS (?¹ CHERKAS) was born 1880. He married ANNA SCLOTA 1906. She was born 1886.

5. ANTHONY (TONY)³ CHERKAS (JOHN² CZERKAS, ?¹ CHERKAS) was born 1896, and died 1979. He married DOROTHY "DUTCHY" ?. She was born 1898, and died 1985.

6. MARY³ CHERKAS (JOHN² CZERKAS, ?¹ CHERKAS) was born 1899, and died 2000. She married NICHOLAS PUBUSKY. He was born 1886, and died 1959.

7. CLARA CHERKAS³ (ZERKAS) (JOHN² CZERKAS, ?¹ CHERKAS) was born 17 Oct 1900, and died 1991. She married ALEXANDER MATTHEW HUSAK, son of MATTHEW HUSAK and TAKIANA HUSAK. He was born 02 Jan 1892, and died 30 Dec 1980.

8. WILLIAM L. "LOUIE"³ ZERKIS (JOHN² CZERKAS, ?¹ CHERKAS) was born 07 Apr 1903, and died 30 Nov 1950. He married (1) EUGINIA (JENNIE) TATARCHUK. She was born 04 Dec 1903, and died 14 Nov 1978. He married (2) <UNNAMED>.

9. STEPHEN³ CHERKAS (JOHN² CZERKAS, ?¹ CHERKAS) was born 1907, and died Aug 2000. He married NATALIE PLESKUN. She was born 1909, and died 1979.

He married MARY IRENE (IRENA) KRAMAR 13 Jul 1907 in Philadelphia PA, daughter of SIMEON KRAMAR and ANASTASIA ONYSKIW. She was born 1887 in Lamopol, Nastasow Providence, Ukraine, and died 1946 in Clifton, NJ.
