Notes:		 Captain Caleb Stanley, b. March -, 1642, d. May 5, 1718, aged 76, at Hartford, Conn. ( gravestone, Center Churchyard) , son of Timothy and Elizabeth (--) Stanley, and brother of Abigail Stanley, the wife of Samuel2 Cowles, (John 1), whose record see for information concerning the Stanley family. Capt. Stanley married second, Sept. 24, 169o, Mrs. Sarah (Foster) Long, widow of Zechariah, whose first husband was Benjamin Moore. She died Aug. 30, 1698, aged 44, and he married, third, Sept. 14, 1699, Mrs. Lydia (Cole) Willson, widow of Dea. John, and daughter of John Cole, the carpenter. She died in 1732. Caleb Stanley was a deputy for Hartford nine Sessions in 1683, 1684, 1689, and 169a; appointed Lieut. of the Trainband of Harti ord, Oct. 15, 1683; Captain of the trainband of the south side of Hartford, Aug. 29, 168g; Commissary for the Colony 1695, and for Hartford County 1703-4; Assistant 1691-1700. Fe was a wealthy and influential man of the colony.
