Mr. Elliott was born in Mo rgan County but lived several years in Reno Nev before moving to Indianapo lis. The son of Ed and Dee McCormick Elliott, he was born April 1, 1917, in Emi nence. He married Rebecca Jane Mayfield and she survives. Other survivors besides the sister and widow are a son Ed Brent Elliott, I ndianapolis and two grandsons. A son Paul Bruce Elliott, preceeded him in death. Mr. Elliott was a graduate of Martinsville High School in 1935 and attend ed Indiana University. He was a businessman and a former member of the Fir st Christian Church in martinsville. There will be a private graveside service and no calling hours. Jeffers on Street, early Monday afternoon 12 JUN 1961. Mr. Elliotts home had been in the Eminence community of Morgan County a nd Martinsville throughout his life. Born in Eminence July 2, 1890, he w as the son of Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Littell Elliott. He attended school there and later with his bro ther, the late Otis Elliott, and Claude Stierwalt, operated a general stor e. He moved to Martinsville in 1926 and since that time had conducted a re al estate business here, and also has been engaged in farming and cattle r aising. Mr. Elliott was president of the First National Bank, Martinsville. He h ad been vice-president prior to that and had been on its board of directio rs since the banks organization in 1932. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 40 years. Mr. Elliott leaves his wife, the former Miss Dee McCormick, of Eminence, w hom he married July 13, 1915; a son and daughter, Bernard Elliott of India napolis and Mrs. Charles Buskirk, Martinsville, four grandchildren. She was 83 Mrs. Buskirk, known as "Ruthie" was born April 10, 1925. in Eminence In d, to Ed and Ivy Dee McCormick Elliott. She was a 1943 graduate of Martins ville High School in Indiana. She married Charles Buskirk in Nashville In on June 16, 1946. Mrs. Buskirk was co-owner of Buskirks TV & Appliences from 1953 until h er retirement in 1979. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Martin sville, and was a member of the Kapppa Kappa Kappa soriety, MHMC Hospit al Guild, Elliott Clan, the Littell Families of America, Colonial Dames, D escendants of Washingtons Army at Valley Forge, National society Daughte rs of the American Revolution and Indiana Pioneers. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Bernard McCormick E lliott, and grandchildren Benjamin and Jerusha Buskirk.
