	Henry Flora b.1826 OCT 11 d.1908 FEB 04 Spouse: Sarah Ann Miller	Father: Adam Flora Mother: Sarah Miller	Henry Flora was a native Kentuckian and a son of Adam and Elizabeth (Miller) Flora both of whom were natives of Virginia. They were married Sept. 6, 1819, and to them were born four children, one unnamed, and three of whom lived to be grown: Amanda, John W., and Henry. Adam Flora followed the vocation of farmer; his death resulted from an injury received from a falling tree. Adam was the son of John Flora, a native of Germany and one of the early. settlers of the Virginia Colony. 6 (At this point, let us stray from recorded fact - In 19 sin-, - or anuncle-.Ad~/fh fJ.-th~rof J,:,h/7. ,-Jc:Jh~ /~lj/;er o/II.Ic.)rYl, Henry Flora was born on a farm in Warren Co., Ky., where he grew to manhood. His education was almost entirely practical. At the age of twenty-one years he began to make his own way in life; his resources were limited to health, strength, and will force, and it may be said of him that he was the "architect of his own fortune". He was the proprietor of a fine tract of fertile land which he improved with comfortable dwelling, barns, orchards and other conveniences. He was married to Miss Sarah Ann Miller June 18, 1846. She was the daughter of David and Margaret (Honaker) Miller. She was a consistent and acceptable member of the Christian Church. Politically, Henry Flora was a Republican. Henry Floras mother, Elizabeth (Miller) Flora, was the daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Penner) Miller. She was married first to Adam Runner with whom she had these children: Benjamin, Sallie, Jacob, Dorinda, Margaret, and Madison (see chart). Adam Runner died and she married Adam Flora. Adam Runner was married first to Elizabeth Penner, and they were the parents of Elizabeth, Nancy, John, William, and Polly. This William Runner was the great-great-grandfather of Imogene (Young) Ashby through her paternal grandmother, Sarah Jane (Runner) Young.
