All enlistments were f or 3 yrs, unless otherwise noted. The regiment was mustered into Feder al Service on 12-9-1861 at Calhoun, KY. Hospitalizations, wounds, transfe rs. promotions and other information are also included. The regiment w as muster out of Federal Service on 12-14 to 17, 1864 at BG, KY. Unfortun ately, the regimental papers were lost to rebel forces on 11-23-1864 d ue to the abandonment of Pulaski, TN by Federal forces. Major Gen. Schofi eld ordered the evacuation of Pulaski to return to Nashville and only esse ntials materials were taken along. However, a few duplicate enlistment a nd discharge certificates still survive.
