He married Zeruiah Rudd on 20 January 1758, in Norwich, New London, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 19 July 1807, in Stonington, New London, Connecticut, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island, United States.
