Notes:		 When William Vincent was born on 17 June 1638, in Wiltshire, England, his father, Nicholas Vincent, was 28 and his mother, Frideswith Carpenter, was 22. He married Susannah Browning in December 1655, in Edgartown, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He died on 3 March 1696, in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island, British Colonial America, at the age of 57

Priscilla Carpenter Notes: Priscilla Carpenter was born say 1644 and died probably Providence about 15 November 1690. Priscilla married at Providence (probably Pawtuxet), 31 May 1670, her first cousin William Vincent (1638-1695). We know when Priscilla died from the deed by which William Vincent sold to Timothy Carpenter a quarter share of a meadow lot inherited by Priscilla from her father, William Carpenter (abt.1610-1685). The deed ends with the following: “In Wittness . . . I the said William Vinsent & Priscilla My Wife doe hereunto set our handes & seales this fifteene day of Novem- ber . . . 1690” (Providence Town Records 6:144, 20:231–33; Providence Land Records 2:95–96). Only William’s name is subscribed, however, suggesting that Priscilla had died before she could formally consent to the sale of her legacy. The names of Priscillas sons are found in William Vincent’s will, dated 21 December 1695 and proved 3 March 1695/6, names “my three sonns, Thomas Nicholas & the youngest [Wil- liam]” (Providence Town Records 7:176–77). It is confirmed that Priscilla and William were cousins in a deed of 64 acres to William Vincent, dated 5 February 1661[/2?]. Here William Carpenter calls Vincent his “Cousen” (i.e., nephew) (Providence Town Records 1:82–83, 21:86).[1]
