She died hug. 1.6, 1767, ae. 7S (g. ~). Capt. Isaac Cowles lived in Farmington, on the ttorth part of Willia.Ill Porters house lot, being the southwest comer of William Whitmans lot, about 1850. (See Caleb Cowles, No. 19.) He was appointed ensign, May 1717, lieutenant, May 1723, and Captain, May 1731, of the Second Company, or Trainband, in Farmington;. ~ was clerk of the Company in 1714; collector of the ministers rate, 1698-1700; constable several years; representative in 1726, and often held important town offices, He was a man of great enei:gy -and enterprise and hecaJJle an e,c:tensive landholder .. He was a tailor by trade. Will dated Oct. 20, 1740. Proved at Hartford, Ct., March 2, 1756. In 1763 the last five sons divided the estate among themselves as sole heirs, amounting to about 2,500 pounds.
